The Royal Wedding...

Was trying to resist a Royal Wedding post but it just had to be done! Yesterday I was kind of dreading watching the ceremony as I think the hype and advertisement surrounding the event put me off. But having to write an essay on it I woke up nice and early and watched it from beginning to end. I actually got really into it and enjoyed watching it greatly (as you could probably tell by my tweets!)! The suspense of who the bride will be wearing, checking out the royals peculiar choice of headwear, awaiting Wills reaction and of course the kiss, kept me hooked throughout the programme and didn't disappoint at all! I'm so pleased that McQueen was chosen for the brides dress; one word to describe it, perfect! I'm going to try and write this essay while I'm got the royal bug...

You got a fast car, I want a ticket to anywhere...

001 . Longleat Zoo - 002 . Little Giraffes - 003 . My favourite photograph ever! - 004 . The maze which took us like 10 minutes to find the middle, well happy! - 005 . House brick sized butterfly, scary stuff! - 006 . Mr. Darcy #essex - 007 . Colourful birdies!

No post yesterday as me & the boyf' made a spontaneous decision to take a trip to Longleat Zoo! Best decision ever! It's a little sad but I used to watch 'Animal Park' every Saturday morning so was stupidly excited to see all the animals up close, and boy do you get close! I have a major thing for Giraffes, I think they're the coolest animals ever! Just look at the third photograph, my main man!ha. It was such an amazing day; I'd recommend it to anyone, no matter how old your are! The safari drive is fab', you can get really close to the rhino's, lions, tigers, giraffes, ahhh! There are also parts of the zoo where you can get up close to the littler animals like the parrots, meerkats, reptiles and butterflies. One little tip if you're planning on going; if you're precious about your car DO NOT go through the 'Monkey Drive-Thru', they rip off any part of your car that they can, I saw one cheeky monkey running around with a licence plate in his hand! The boyf' didn't seem to find it as funny as I did seems we were in his car!

I have designated this weekend to get my 'Royal Wedding Essay' for university out of the way. It can't just be me who is kind of fed up of hearing about the wedding before it's even happened!?ha. I've been trying to do some research this morning but keep finding things to distract myself with (more details to come, excited to share with you guys!). Do need to get my head down though, written 63 words when I should have 2,000 not looking good! Hope you enjoy the bank holiday tomorrow...

Tuesday's Trend: Hidden Treasures

This week we're moving onto a new trend, 'Hidden Treasures'. To capture this look think of raiding a vintage store and re-working the heirlooms to create edgy new garments! Now I know garment reinvention is big in the blogging world but this trend focuses more on embellishment and detail compared to actually reconstructing the garments. So here is an introduction to this emerging trend:

This trend is all about pastels shades in distressed materials. Vintage lace and embroidered detailing add antique charm to any garment; particularly appliqued tapestry. This all about re-inventing the old, I'm dying to go to the local charity shops and see what 'hidden treasures' they have to offer (but I don't get paid until Thursday, boo!). What do you guys think of this trend so far?

I need a dollar...

L-R; Topshop, H&M and MOLYNEUXOXO

These are my three favourite rings at the moment, but whenever I wear them I end up with green rings around my fingers (not the best look!). They've also transformed from their original gold colour to a rusted copper state, again not so appealing! The other week I came across a post on Gem Fatale's Style Blog which would solve my annoying problem with ease! I've heard of the trick to paint the inside of the ring with clear nail varnish to keep the green finger syndrome at bay but never thought to re-paint jewellery...

The gold nail varnish is a very old Collection 2000 one that I found at the bottom of my nail varnish basket, I think it's done it's job quite well. It is a little glittery compared to it's original state but looks a million times better than the red, rusted colour! An easy DIY to save your favourite jewellery from being reluctantly thrown away. I need to stop procrastinating and get on with some work now, deadlines a-looming!...

Let the sunshine baby...

001 . Rock from Porthcawl - 002 . Chillen on the beach - 003. DIY shorts - 004 . New Primark sandals £2.50!

Apologise for my absence over the past couple of days; had a few days of spontaneous adventures with my mates to make the most out of the beautiful weather! I went to the beer garden after shopping on Thursday, beach & Nando's on Friday and a BBQ after work yesterday which ended up going on until the very early hours! Will of course make it up to you guys and I have rediscovered a few summery outfits which will be shared with you very soon. For now here are some of my snaps from the beach on Friday, love busting out the shorts I made last summer! Got two old pairs of jeans to re-invent this year too. Hope you all enjoy your Easter Sunday; if you follow me on Twitter you would already know that the easter bunny was kind enough to bring me Adele tickets for later this year, who needs chocolate aye! My Sunday roast is ready now, NOMNOMNOM...

Look down that wishing well...

Manipulation samples and designs (I think we need some new garden furniture!)

Not the most exciting post today as in all fairness it's been a pretty mundane day! I spend the majority of the day sat out my back garden waiting for inspiration to strike in the form of my final design for my final project of my first year in university (it has flown by!). I can't fault the beautiful weather though, I think I've even caught a little tan! For the project we have to use black materials and apply fabric manipulation techniques to them to create a look which will appear in the fashion show at the end of May. I have decided to look at ballet and The Black Swan as inspiration for my piece. At the beginning I had a million ideas for this project and now they seem to have all dried up. I had to stop designing to get ready for work but I feel like I've made a little progress and my ideas have a little more depth to them now. It's still in the very early stages but will share with you guys as soon as I feel like I've had a major breakthrough! I'm really not feeling work tonight but going to power through with the thought of going shopping tomorrow morning, will hopefully have haul photo's to share with you then(:...

Tuesday's Trend: East Meets West - Pattern

Today's trend is again coming from the 'East Meets West' influence. This week I have decided to look at how the Eastern patterns have been translated into Western fashion and how to incorporate them into your on personal style...

You could easily introduce this trend into your wardrobe buy investing in any printed or aztec style pieces. Louis Vitton & Commes De Garcons clearly found influence from the Eastern world for there summer collections. The 'mix matched' prints and layers of bound garments complete this look. If you want to wear this trend in a more subtle way think about finding some mix match, ethnic bracelets to channel your inner Pocahontas...

Jewellery from; ASOS, River Island, Topshop & Newlook

This type of jewellery is everywhere! It is popular now but will probably peak come festival season in the summer. Topshop have a great selection of ethnic/'free love hippie' jewellery in at the moment. A little secret is to check the men's sections; this style of jewellery is always about for the opposite sex, another 'borrowed from the boys' look! If you don't want to spend a lot of money on jewellery you could always make your own. I'm dying to try and make those friendship bracelets that every kid had in the 90's! There are loads of tutorials on-line showing how to braid different designs, so if you chose the right colour threads you could have a very fashionable piece of DIY jewellery to wear all summer! (Expect a tutorial shortly!) Also if you go on any holidays both abroad and to the UK seaside; could provide you with opportunities to buy jewellery that not only is bang on trend but has a personal connection. What do you think of this jewellery trend? I know I can't wait to start my collection...

The beating of a million drums...

Top - £4, Belt - £2.50 & Shorts - £7.50; All River Island Sale

Ah my sale buys, what do you guys think? I was trying to be good and not buy anything as I don't get paid until next Thursday (day earlier than usual thanks to the Royal Wedding, woo!) but I just couldn't resist treating myself! When I saw the top it immediately made me think of the Truly Madly Deeply animal cross tee which is a cult favourite on sites like tumblr. I saved myself £24 by getting this RI replica; loves a bargain! The grungy, flower print on this belt randomly caught my eye and I think I'll get my money's worth out of it seems it was a steal at £2.50! And now for the shorts; I've been searching for a pair of high waisted shorts for forever but the small sizes seem to sell out instantly. I'm glad I was forced to hang on now; although I will need a few more weeks in the gym and a serious spray tan before I show them off, they're sooo short! And on that note I'm off to the leisure centre for a gym and sauna session, be busting out these shorts in no time! Did you guys manage to grab yourself a bargain?

P.S. Keep an eye out for todays 'Tuesday's Trend', you get two posts today you lucky people(;

Did you do your best today?...

I love this weather so much! Been sat out my garden for the best half of the day catching some rays, ah definitely is the life. You might have noticed me having a bit of a moan when it comes to my outfit posts, I tend to have a grumble about the poor quality of my camera and been planning on investing in a new one when my student loan finally goes in. But I'm not the type of person who can splurge a couple of hundred pounds with out thinking about it thoroughly before hand; resulting in me actually learning how to use my current camera! Might sound weird to those of you who are into photography but my camera knowledge goes as far as turning the thing on and clicking the capture button! Today I experimented with the macro setting. I've noticed this button on all of my camera's but never thought to use it. I will from now on; check out my photographs of the flowers in my garden, quite proud of them...

Not my usual 'fashion' post but these images could easily provide inspiration for a elegant, evening gown. So many designers collections have been inspired by nature, particularly botanical plants; just look at Christian Dior's Fall 2010 Couture collection, could easily mistake some of the garments for orchid petals (easily my favourite flower!). It's true what they say, you learn something new everyday! I now have a new desktop image along with some camera knowledge, result!

Love you long time so you know the meaning...

I hope you've all taken advantage of the River Island sale, today they knocked another 50% off the sale price! Which meant that work was like absolute death!|: I have physically never been so tired! The first few hours were okay but then as the day went on the bargain hunters were out in force. To console my aching back and temper which had been pushed to the limit, I treated myself to a few pieces from the sale. Will show you guys what I bought tomorrow/in the week, I'm really happy with them! For the first few hours when it was quiet I had the chance to wander around the store and eye up the new summery stock we had in that morning, three main items caught my eye...

The turquoise top is a much zestier colour IRL and I can just picture wearing it in so many ways come summer! It has a split in the back so is sexy to wear out but the front is conservative so you can wear a jacket on top in the day. The vest also looks a lot nicer in the flesh! Coral & fringes is basically me sold! The jacket isn't something I'd normally pick up, (I'd rather freeze in a cardigan than wear a coat!) but there's something about this casual parka that I like!

All items from River Island

I love the first outfit! It was actually suggested by the RI website! The clash between the orange (big colour for SS11) and the turquoise is just beautiful. The second is something I'd throw on to go to university or shopping; casual, comfy and on trend! Hope you like these finds as much as I do(: off over the boyf's house now for a lazy night with films and munchies, have a nice Saturday night...

You're so hypnotising...

Welcome new followers!(: Love seeing some new faces on the blog! Posting early for me today as I've been at the doctors all morning and hoping to get some uni' work done before this evening, cos it's Fridayyyy(couldn't resist sorry!ha) So as promised here are my favourite 'Lita' looks at the moment, my life has literally been taken over by these shoes!

Images Credits - 001 . 002 . 003 .

Wow wow wow! This is definitely the way to wear this footwear trend with laid back cool. All three styles look effortless and sexy, what every girl aims to dress like right! These looks show that the shoes can work with lots of different outfits and colour palettes. I need to stop looking at these shoe's now, I can feel an impulse buy coming on! I'm going to chain myself to my sewing machine so I stop drooling over them and do something productive, have a nice Friday guys!(:

Lady luck ain't playing on my side...

I haven't been on a proper shopping spree in about two months now due to being a skint student. This zero bank balance enforced shopping ban has resulted in me constructing rather large shopping lists in my mind every time I see something pretty! I think I've already mentally spent next months wage & student loan about 276 times! My latest out of reach clothing crush has come in the form of these amazing Jeffery Campbell Lita Booties..

Now, if like me you're a little bit addicted to LOOKBOOK or tumblr you are probably well aware/sick of the sight of these shoes! But I just find them to be completely gorgeous and simply want to own a pair in every colour! The reality being that I'd be lucky to own ONE pair seems they come with a £100+ price tag and selling out almost everywhere! I don't think I can choose my favourite out of my picks above; I melt a little when I see them, a true shoe crush! The boyf' & mother hate them, they think they look like something off the Grinch!? Surely I can't be alone in thinking 'I NEED A PAIR NOW!!", what do you guys make of them? I will follow this post with my favourite 'Lita' looks but will leave it until tomorrow, three posts in one day is pushing a bit I think!ha.

Took a little time to make it a little better...

Blouse - Peacocks
Waistcoat - Newlook
Jeans & shoes - River Island
Rings - H&M, Topshop & MOLYNEUXOXO
HYPE!

I received a letter a few weeks ago explaining that I had won a two awards for my work last year in my Comprehensive school. It was no biggy really but I've never won anything before so have been quite excited/nervous! As per I also was faffing about what to wear! It was an awards ceremony on one hand but only in our community school so didn't want to be over or under dressed. The trials of being a girl aye!

Again I don't know what's up with my camera, sometimes the photographs are crystal clear then other times they come out like this! Anyways this is what I ended up wearing last night. I bought this blouse a few months ago and only worn it a few times, I bought it when I had a 40% off voucher in Peacocks so only cost me about £9! It is sheer, so for this school event I wore a nude vest underneath, but when I wore it to the pub on the weekend I just wore it with a black bra (cheeky). The waistcoat is basically my staple wardrobe piece, you may have noticed it a few times already! The jeans are officially my works jeans but fit too well to only wear them to work, may have to invest in a second pair. The shoes are also my faithfuls, got them for £12.50 in the River sale last year, defo' got my monies worth out of them! I'm loving the multi ring look at the moment but sadly these few are succumbing to the inevitable copper rust, boo! The outfit is pretty basic overall but; I was comfortable, neither under or over dressed and I think it kind of showed that I was a fashion student, RESULT! It's my last day in uni' today before the Easter holidays so better get my head down. Might post a cheeky little wish list after the gym, so until then...

Tuesday's Trend: East Meets West - Metal

Check me using a non lyrical title! Welcome to my permanent feature of 'Tuesday's Trend', gonna try and get a bit of structure for my little ol' blog! Last week I mentioned the trend 'East Meets West', this week I'm going to develop the trend a little further...

As this is an emerging trend there isn't a lot of it on the high street at the moment but keep a look out as it's set to be big for the next few seasons to come. When shopping this trend keep an eye out for luxurious gathering, bound detailing such as draping and rich colours, particularly metal shades to get the catwalk look. Rodarte & A.F. Vandervorst were pioneering this trend at the shows for Spring/Summer 2011 collections. How amazing is the Rodarte dress on the left?! *Dribble*. Gold garments aren't the easiest to pull off and there isn't much of it on the high street at the moment so I think the easiest way to introduce this trend into your wardrobe is with statement ethnic inspired gold jewellery...

These statement jewellery pieces are just gorgeous! The colours & mixture of textures just scream the East Meets West trend! Monsoon seem to be leading the pack with the beautiful statement necklaces. I think they'll look lovely in the summer paired with almost any outfit! There was plenty of jewellery to chose from in the higher price bracket, but for under £25 I think these pieces are definitely worth investing in! What do you guys make of this trend?
