My inner magpie took over this weekend resulting in bright, slightly tacky nails! I gotta say I'm slightly besotted with them! This Barry M shade is quickly becoming one of my favourites; it looks amazing with a tan + is basically the perfect peach colour. When I bought the OPI Nicki Minaj mini set I didn't think I'd really get much wear out of this lime shade but these two colours work really well together. I think I'm going to try them in an aztec style next with a bit of white/gold thrown in. The flower was a bit of an impulse thing but I do think it's super pretty albeit rather tacky! Summery nails seeing as the sun has decided to make an appearance(:

I've been wanting to attempt ombré or gradient nails since seeing the purple version on a few blogs a fair while ago, however I never seemed to have quite enough colours for it to work properly. When my sister came home with the Rimmel pale blue this idea immediately shot to mind! I've worn the plain colours all week + I must say, I love it! Last night I added a bit of sparkle just in time for the weekend. The OPI Save Me works perfectly as the holographic blue strips seem to emphasise the the blue nails. I'm looking forward to trying this in pink + purple tones. This style is perfect for statement nails that are so simple + don't require a steady hand, new favourite last minute night out manicure!

I was feeling a little *blurgh* last night after a full day of uni' then an evening of work so topped up my tan + gave myself another galaxy mani' to cheer myself up. Used lilac + purple colours this time for a change & love, love, love the girly alternative! Outfit is a simple one that I wore to uni', staple jeans & tee combo! Decided that I need to wear jeans less & dresses more, time to go tight shopping!

Last night was supposed to be a girly, family night out in Cardiff at an Adele concert but as I was getting ready to head into town for pre drinks & a meal I noticed friends on Facebook saying that the concert had been cancelled. After ringing up the box office the worst had been confirmed. Devastated to say the least! We was all geared up for a night out by then so went to a local pub for curry club & a couple of bottles of wine instead. Not quite an Adele concert but was still a pretty fun night! At least the concert is being rescheduled & I hope she feels better soon!(:

Now on to the nails! As I mentioned I was half ready by the time the cancellation was announced which included my new spacey nails! I tried them out as an experiment & didn't expect to like them (I've said in the past in a pastel girl!) but they're definitely my favourite nail art attempt as of yet! I've had so many compliments about them; even the girl who served me in H&M this morning squeezed in a 'I love your nails btw' as I was paying, result! Will definitely be rocking this look more often...

So if you follow me on twitter you might of noticed me dropping the odd tweet about 'nail art' the last couple of days. These bad boys were a result spending a fair bit of time on fuckyeahnailart. I think of my self as quite a "creative" person but when it comes to nail illustration I am not innovative at all. If any of you suffer with the same boring condition then this site is a true inspiration! After seeing a set of nails similar to these on mentioned tumblr, I just had to try and recreate them! I traced them back to the WAH Nails tumblr; again another amazing site but you really wouldn't expect any less from the legends themselves! 

The two colours used are probably my favourite nail varnishes at the moment. I get so many compliments when I wear the Models Own blue, it's just so eye catching. The coral is actually my mums, I always forget about trusty old Avon for cosmetics but this shade is converting me slightly! Together I think they just scream summer! So this post is in tribute of yesterdays summer solstice; first day of summer, bring on the sun! I actually really enjoyed painting my nails a bit more exciting than usual so have decided to try out a 'Nail Of The Week' feature! I don't know if I'll keep this up but it's worth trying aye! Last night I went to the cinema to see 'Bad Teacher' with the boyf'. Cameron Diaz is a total babe, had to be said! Was going to do an outfit post but ended up wearing a pretty simple outfit; wedges, skinnies, shirt, leather jacket & feathered earrings, it's basically my everyday uniform! Think I need to start mixing up my wardrobe, but with no money is that possible?! Think I'll have to stick to the DIY manicures...
