RI SUMMER SALE...

As an employee, the River Island sale is currently the bane of my life. It took the majority of people who work in my store SIX hours to set it all up Wednesday night. I didn't get home to bed until 2am only to be awoken by my alarm at 6:30 this morning for my 8am shift! It's fair to say I feel and look like death after 14 hours of work & only 4 hours sleep! On the flip side this is probably the best sale we've had; especially if you was one of those lucky few who managed to nab one of those 50% off wristbands, very lucky! I've had a little online splurge as I couldn't bring myself to shop in store after being elbowed, nudged & run over by prams all day! Will share more once the items have arrived(: I'm working again tomorrow & Saturday so apologises in advance for a poor week of blogging; just as I was getting into the swing of things too, daym! Now I need some of mamma mol's chilli & an early night! Did you guys manage to get your hands on any bargains today?...

NB. Although I am an employee at RI I am an independent blogger & writing about the sale because I thought it was worthy of a post, not because of any other reason. Just to clarify as I noticed I mention them a lot, my baaad!!

WHERE THEM GIRLS AT...

Top - Newlook, Shorts - Primark, Earrings - Newlook, Rings - Newlook & Topshop, Necklace - Amber Jewellery

Last night my friends & I went to Cardiff for a cheeky student night out. Cheap drink, good music & fab' company all joined together to make an amazing night out! I had a hard time deciding what to wear but glad I settled on what I wore. The shorts are the ones I picked up in Liverpool; £5 in the Primark sale, bargain! I wouldn't of normally paired them with the turquoise top but I was feeling brave & think the peacock feather necklace pulled it all together nicely. Looking at these photo's make me want to have a go at the old OOTD again. I don't know if it's because I didn't give myself enough of a chance to get the hang of them or that I just don't have the knack but I do struggle with them. My style has changed since I started my blog so maybe it would be nice to have a go at doing some outfit posts again. I woke up this morning with no hangover so going to the cinema tonight with the boyf'; it's a toss up between Bridesmaids or Pirates, suggestions?...

PIMM'S O'CLOCK...

Jug of Pimm's in the sunshine; NOM!!

How gorgeous has the weather been today?! Just what I needed. I'm sure I have that SAD disorder; I get awful grumpy when it rains for too long! I woke up after a serious lie in to spend the day in the garden with my family. I even busted out a bikini! We just sat in the sun sipping Pimm's & listening to music, we then finished off the day with a BBQ! Perfect. Tomorrow's weather has been forecasted the same which makes me even happier! My friends & I have planned a night out in Cardiff which I'm so excited for! We have a pre drinks party planned in the garden before getting dolled up to hit the big smoke. Just one obstacle in my way; I have nothing to wear, as per usual! I have vowed not to buy anything new which means a rummage through my wardrobe is well overdue! I'm not as stressed as usual though, the thought of a few pre-cocktails in the sun is defo' chilling me right out! Hope you guys have had a lovely Sunday in the sunshine...

WISHLIST: BLOCK COLOURS & HAIRCARE...

Being payday (finally!) I've decided to create a little wishlist! Now I probably won't be buying all of the above but it'll sure be sweet if I did! As it's summer break in university this means no more student loans resulting in me having to live on my pathetic part-time job wage, not good! I'm trying to cut down on the amount I spend on clothes but that just makes me want to spend more on cosmetics & haircare! I've never really been a big spender on hair products, I use any old shampoo & conditioner and occasionally treat myself to the odd Aussie mousse & leave in conditioner, nothing special. But after spending a lot of my free time reading blogs and watching vlogs I have decided to up my game a little. I'm desperately wishing my hair to grow & it's only just passing the awkward shoulder length phase. I'm hoping by investing in a 'Tangle Teezer' & some volumising products my hair might get a new lease of life instead of looking like a mop on my head! I have also been dying to try the Bed Head range for foreverrr, I think it's time I treated myself!

Clothes wise, I've been lusting after a denim bralet for a while & might actually take the plunge and buy one this month. The whole 'colour blocking' trend has been around for a while now but I've never really seen it as 'me'. But after eyeing up the purple blazer in work for quite some time I might have to convert to the dark side. I think it'll look really cool with the Topshop pink vest & some feather accessories! I also think it's time to invest in another shade of Models Own; my Blooboo is taking a bashing lately & I basically wear it non stop! I think the 'Top Turquoise' shade will be a smooth transition into a new colour. Finally I love me some nude lip stick & I think this Topshop shade is just perfect! I think I've made a dent in my measly pay packet already...

NOTW: BLUE & ORANGE SUMMER LEOPARD

WAH Inspired Summer Leopard Print
Blue - Models Own (BlooBoo) . Black - Nail Art Pen . Orange - Avon (Coral Beat)

So if you follow me on twitter you might of noticed me dropping the odd tweet about 'nail art' the last couple of days. These bad boys were a result spending a fair bit of time on fuckyeahnailart. I think of my self as quite a "creative" person but when it comes to nail illustration I am not innovative at all. If any of you suffer with the same boring condition then this site is a true inspiration! After seeing a set of nails similar to these on mentioned tumblr, I just had to try and recreate them! I traced them back to the WAH Nails tumblr; again another amazing site but you really wouldn't expect any less from the legends themselves!

The two colours used are probably my favourite nail varnishes at the moment. I get so many compliments when I wear the Models Own blue, it's just so eye catching. The coral is actually my mums, I always forget about trusty old Avon for cosmetics but this shade is converting me slightly! Together I think they just scream summer! So this post is in tribute of yesterdays summer solstice; first day of summer, bring on the sun! I actually really enjoyed painting my nails a bit more exciting than usual so have decided to try out a 'Nail Of The Week' feature! I don't know if I'll keep this up but it's worth trying aye! Last night I went to the cinema to see 'Bad Teacher' with the boyf'. Cameron Diaz is a total babe, had to be said! Was going to do an outfit post but ended up wearing a pretty simple outfit; wedges, skinnies, shirt, leather jacket & feathered earrings, it's basically my everyday uniform! Think I need to start mixing up my wardrobe, but with no money is that possible?! Think I'll have to stick to the DIY manicures...

WANT: CROCHET LACE SHORTS

Last summer I was lusting after these River Island layered crochet lace shorts. I however failed to get my hands on a pair, devastated to say the least! If I was to sum up my everyday style at the moment I think it would have the boho, festival vibe. I'm loving all things crafty like crochet & feathers and neutral tones with a pop of colour. Not being able to sleep last night led me on an internet journey trying to track down a pair of these bad lads. Yet again I was unsuccessful! After looking a little closer I realised that they wouldn't actually be that difficult to make. So feeling creative this morning I tried to learn to crochet with Youtube as my teacher. Lets just say I was a little naive (I blame being tired at 1am!) in thinking that I'd actually be able to make the crochet pattern! I'm not giving up on this spark of an idea yet though, I will own a pair of these beauties by the time the Great British summer arrives, if/whenever that will be!...

DADDY'S GIRL...

My dad & I back in 2009, Happy Fathers Day Poppa Mol'!

Had a bit of a quiet weekend consisting of work, DVD's and munchies! It was much needed but is it possible to feel more tired after doing nothing?! I'm slightly struggling today after a Smirnoff session with the boyf' & his parents last night. Turns out you don't need to go out to get wasted! Today has been a quiet Fathers Day as everyone in my house has some sort of hangover! We're having a curry tonight as our nod to celebrating, NOM! Hope you all have had a good weekend. I've placed a few things on my eBay and there might be more going up through the week so check it out if you fancy grabbing yourself a bargain...

TAKE THAT PROGRESS TOUR...

Yesterday I went to see Take That in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. Being totally honest this music isn't usually my cup of tea but once you see them in concert you will realise that it doesn't even matter! They're probably the best band to see live; their voices are spot on and the atmosphere was amazing!! We got quite close to them too, the pictures don't really do the night justice at all but I thought I'd share with you guys anyway! If any of you reading this are going to see this concert you will not be disappointed! The only down side/funny side to a Take That concert is probably the hardcore fans; I had a middle aged man screaming every word to the songs in my ear through the whole concert, he even had a little dance routine going on at one point! CRINGE! Even though Robbie Williams definitely added to the concert this year, the Circus tour in 2009 was better in my opinion. There was some amazing parts to this concert though, including; a giant waterfall, huge robot, human chess set, flames, fireworks, confetti and loads more!  I had these tickets for Christmas and had been looking forward to it since so it's weird that it's all over now. The next concert I have planned is Adele in September but might have to get tickets for something in the summer.

Anyways back to reality! This weekend is free listing on eBay so being the bargain hunter that I am, I'm going to take full advantage of this offer! Today I'm taking some photo's of some of the many clothes that I wish to sell. I'm going to put them up Saturday/Sunday (depending on how long it takes me!) and then will share the link with you guys so you can maybe grab yourself a bargain! I'm only going to sell the things I would buy myself and most of my things are like new! Back to sorting through my millions of dresses...

ORANGE OR PINK...

So I have my Topshop Jaime Ultimate Skinny Jeans that I mentioned about transforming in to shorts yesterday. I had them in the sale for £10 about a year or two ago and as per they still have their tags attached! I don't know why I thought I'd wear white skinny jeans for, another impulse purchase! Now I need your guys help to decide whether to dye them Goldfish Orange or Flamingo Pink. The packets in the image are hand dyes but I'll probably buy the machine dye (if my mum will let me use fabric dye in her washing machine!) as it'll produce a more solid colour. I think I'm probably swaying towards the orange but wanted your opinion before I went ahead and bought the dye. I'm also debating dying them before I cut them into shorts to see what they look like as jeans or might just acquire another pair of cheapy white jeans to try this out, decisions decisions!

The reason for the late posting is that I've been to the cinema to see the 'Hangover 2', such a funny film! I would recommend it to anyone, laughed all the way through! I did schedule this post but it didn't go up for some reason, typical blogger. Would put it tomorrow but got a little outfit post in mind as I'm going to see Take That, woo! I need to go to bed now as the Nando's & popcorn has wiped me out, zzz...

WANT: ORANGE SHORTS

Orange denim shorts - River Island - £24.99

I've come to realise I am a bit of a short fanatic. When sorting out my wardrobe I noticed how many pairs I actually own and lets just say it's pushing excessive! I'm putting myself on a short shopping ban as there are other items of clothing out there to be bought! Due to this ban, work at the moment is torture. Now River Island isn't necessarily my fave high street store but working there has made me slightly bias. Theses shorts have been screaming 'BUY ME!' since they came in a few weeks ago, they're perfect! Coral is one of my favourite colours at the moment and they just look so summery. After my attempt at dip dying the other day I have the dying bug. I also have a pair of white jeans that need revamping, now all I need is some fabric dye and the DIY can go ahead. First to decide between Goldfish Orange or Flamingo Pink...

LIKE TOY SOLDIERS...

001. The birthday boy, me, my sister & Ryan at the pre drinks party, we have a weird friendship but we love it! I'm wearing a head wrap and top made by me. Primark aviators and Miss Selfridge shorts - 002. Me & Alice on the coach, yes we had a 52 seater into town! - 003. Nothing better than a bit of free bubbly! - 004. Me a little steams in Oceana - 005. Taking a tumble during the army toy soldier drinking game and taking the boyf' with me! - 006. Live action pose courtesy of Glam nightclub

Last night a group of camouflage clad guys and girls hit the big smoke of Cardiff to celebrate a friends 18th birthday. My sister Alice and I grew up with the birthday boy James and his brother Ryan. Our parents lived next door to each other and became best friends resulting in us growing up like brothers and sisters; from hanging out on days off school to holidaying together and now going out to town! A night of army paint, free champagne, drinking games and dance tunes has taken it's toll, resulting in me basically not leaving my bed all day plus a suspected broken toe! It was such a good night spent with friends I wouldn't normally go clubbing with. We played the legendary game where you have to pick a toy soldier from a bag and when the whistle is blown take on the pose that your soldier is doing. Sounds easy enough but once several pints of pear cider & 6 inch heels have been added it becomes a dangerously funny game (as you can see from the photo)! I am proud to say that I came home with my soldier and aviators too, shame I wasn't so protective over my monies! I only decided to go out on Wednesday and so glad that I did, was an amazing night! I need to order a pizza and snuggle in my duvet now, hopefully the side effects of the amount of alcohol I drunk would have worn off by tomorrow...

DIP DYE DIY: WHITE TO LILAC VEST

Hope you guys enjoy this tutorial; I now have a new jazzy vest to wear which didn't cost me a penny, woo! It was pretty simple to do however if you do use purple dye like me remember to stir the mixture well as I have a few red & blue spots where the concentrated dye landed on the damp top. Other than that it's perfect! I may re-dye it soon bringing the lilac further up but for now it's spot on! Hope you've enjoyed my little DIY...

SHUT UP AND MOVE WITH ME...

As predicted the typical British weather has delayed my DIY post but I thought I'd share the 'before garment' with you guys as fingers crossed it shall be finished tomorrow! I came across this top during my wardrobe blitz. I used to wear it with a coloured boob tube underneath, what can I say, I thought it was trendy?ha. To make it a bit more 2011 I have decided to dip-dye it; it's currently soaking in a bucket of lilac dye out my garden! The how to post will hopefully be up tomorrow depending upon the weather will be nice enough for the top to dry and me having time between another little project I got going on. It's my friends birthday tomorrow and we're going out on the weekend all dressed in an army theme, I have two days to throw together an outfit, challenge accepted!! I'm also hoping to do a little outfit post with my re-invented top, haven't had chance to do one in so long, time to get back into the swing of things...

P.S. What do you guys think of my blog re-vamp so far, ye' or nay?
