So this is what I wore to my summer ball on Friday! It was such an amazing night! Nothing like a bit of live music; we had the pleasure of having The Hoosiers, Tinchy Stryder and Chase & Status perform at our ball! Chase & Status smashed it! It was a little surreal dancing to hardcore dubstep whilst wearing a floor length gown to be fair! I'm so pleased I picked this dress now though, the first dress I bought didn't look right at all and bought this one on a last minute binge. I bought my shoes, bag and jewellery the morning of the ball (forever last minute!) hence them all being from Newlook but I think the coral and turquoise look good together. I didn't want to wear too much jewellery as I think a pair of earrings and a statement ring is more than enough so added a bit more colour with the Models Own nail varnish. I get so many compliments when I wear this colour, suppose it is a little in your face but I was going for the colour contrast so pretty pleased with it. And how 'andsome does my other half look!(; It's kinda been straight back to reality now, my hand in for my last project is this week and I have a million things to do, bad times! Hope you guys have had a good weekend. Wish I was out seems it is a bank holiday weekend, boo! But it's back to Illustrator for me, merghhh...

Here are a few photographs from Newport University's fashion show which I've been helping out in for the last couple of days. I modelled for 8 collections which meant super quick changes and a lot of stress but was totally worth it as the show was amazing! I'm totally in love with the lime green skirt, wanted to take it home!ha. There are a lot more photographs of both nights floating around so I may do another post after I've had chance to sort through them. But now I must go get ready for my summer ball tonight, Chase & Status are headlining and I'm too excited!! Have a nice Friday night...

Backstage before hair and make-up

This week has been hectic; several run through's, one matinee, two shows, 7 costume changes alongside one unsuitable ball gown and one that is yet to be delivered (thanks for the added stress Royal Mail!!). All expected really as it's my penultimate week as a first year in University! So there's another slow week of blogging to be expected while I start/finish my research book but after that I'm all yours followers! So I'm back to Illustrator before my final show tonight, wish me luck...

The dress that is slowly but surely killing me off!

The reason for my poor blogging this week, THIS DRESS! I have around two weeks left in university and my end of year fashion show is next week. Stress levels are through the roof to say the least! The brief for my current project is black fabric & fabric manipulation and I chose ruffles. Big mistake! It's taking me forever! Starting to take shape now though and quite pleased with the results, even if it is killing me trying to get it finished by Monday! I can't wait to break for summer and get back into blogging mode, the count down is on...  

Tuesday's Trend: Sci-Tribe

This trend is basically a combination of the traditional tribal trend with the new up and coming sci-fi feel, creating Sci-Tribe, clever aye! Influenced by cult films like Avatar and icons like Lady Gaga it's all about manipulating the shape of your silhouette in a futuristic way. I find this idea really interesting, what do you guys think?

So Saturday was my longgg awaited night out for my friend Christina's 19th Birthday. I really don't go out that often maybe one big night out a month! This seems a little crazy as this time last year I was out every weekend without fail! Getting old now!ha. I meant to post this yesterday but I was a little worse for wear especially seems I had to get into work for a team meeting at 9am after only getting home around 4 hours before! Not the funnest thing I've every done on a Sunday morning in all honesty! Anyways what do you guys think of our 'California Dreams' outfits?! I'll probably have a very stressful week ahead of me to get my uni' work back up to speed after spending a little time making these outfits but it was totally worth it! I might do another little post in a bit of photo's from the night out, I've never laughed so much, such a random funny night...

I keep walking for miles...

I've been a very busy bee today, still doing uni' work as I type! I spent this morning down Cardiff bay on a location photo' shoot modelling for some girlies in the second year of my course in uni'. The photo' shows the up-do we were styled with, a little messy from the freak weather we had today but the messier the better in my opinion! I'll hopefully be able to get my hands on the photo's to show you guys, the garments had a very 70's vibe and I wore a dark coral wide leg jumpsuit, loved it! Got to get back to work now, need my final garment cut for tomorrow as I have a studio shoot in the afternoon so will have yet another busy day! I.need.a.lie.in...

I FOUND THEM! Was unbelievably happy when I came across these in the Cardiff store on Friday, woo! Can't wait for the summery weather to return so that I can get my wear out of them. I also bought the scallop hem shorts from the 'Conscious Collection', just too pretty to leave there seems they were the only pair left! The headband and Models Own nail varnish is a result of an exchange in River Island, my attempt at being money wise! They're quite 'Hidden Treasures' though don't you think? And finally who can resist a pair of aviators if they're only £2 from Primark! Pretty pleased with my finds and looking forward to sharing these gems with you in an outfit post sometime soon(: 


I'm completely zonked from a weekend of work but have a Royal Wedding Essay to be getting on with, yawn. My life seems to just consist of uni' work at the moment, roll on the 3rd of June when I finish! I have been taking little breaks from my uni' work to do some bits for the Katy Perry night out. I started the birthday girls outfit today and this is what it's like so far, determined to make it the sparkiest thing ever! Only 6 days to go, I'm too excited EEK! Hope you've guys have had a good weekend, Monday tomorrow boo!...

Sorry for things being a little quiet on the blog front this week; can't believe it's Friday tomorrow already, this week has flown by! Because of work, uni' work and things I got going on the side, nothing exciting has really happened this week which makes blogging a little difficult, bad times. On the positive side my student loan has finally gone in! Being dirt poor for several weeks did teach me to manage my money better so haven't gone on any major splurges (yet!) in an attempt to never get in that situation again, it wasn't fun. I have decided to think more before I buy which is totally not my style, self confessed serial impulse buyer here! So top of my lusted after list is these shorts that I came across whilst tumblrin' the other day...

White crochet shorts, could anything be more summery? After a little while searching I found that they are part of the H&M  'Conscious Collection'. Naturally they have disappeared off the site now that I wanted to share with you guys, but here is a pair that is being sold on eBay slightly above the £14.99 original price tag! I am now on a mission to find these/a similar pair to add to my wardrobe. Otherwise I may have to learn to crochet once I break up from uni'!aha. Is it just me or do you guys love these as much as me?...

Tuesday's Trend: Hidden Treasures - Details

This week I've decided to carry on with the 'Hidden Treasures' trend and expand on it in a little more detail. This look first hit the catwalks around the end of 2008 and has slowly been developing since. Now it's becoming quite a popular style for the high street and set to stay a strong trend for the seasons to come. Here are a few images that inspire this trend...

And here are a few of my top picks from the high street. Now I've interpreted this trend as quite a feminine one, as you can probably tell by the floral and lace detailing. I wouldn't necessarily wear these pieces together, (I think it would be too much!) but separately I think they can add an updated antique twist to your wardrobe. My loan (fingers crossed) goes in tomorrow so intending on investing in a few of these pieces as they're defo' up my street and will fit into my existing wardrobe nicely. I've been searching for a pair of lacey ankle socks for ages so Topshop will be first on my list. What do you guys make of this trend?...

I'm all up on ya', cos you're representin' California...

So this is me for the night! I expect the majority of people will be going out tonight or nursing a hangover from last night seems it is bank holiday weekend, but not me! I think I could officially class myself as bankrupt so have got a bit of a 'night's out' ban going on until my student loan goes in, it's hard work lemme tell you!ha. To keep myself occupied I've started preparing for my first night out after the ban, which will be my friends birthday the weekend after next. As I mentioned Friday, I've got a little side project going on and now all is revealed! We are fancy dressing for the occasion as Katy Perry! We're going to harness the California Dreams vibe by decorating our clothing with all things sweet! Being the arty crafty one of my group of friends I have been delegated with costume design so using my free time to sort some things out (seems I will have to do some work when I got back to uni' this week!). As you can see I've started making some donuts and am hoping to also make gingerbread men, candy canes, sweets, ice cream and maybe cupcakes to decorated our costumes. I can't wait to go out already! Will defo' do an outfit post of my costume when it's all done, excited EEK...
