CLOTHES SHOW LIVE 2011

So as I mentioned Sunday I visited the Clothes Show Live for the first time yesterday with my uni' friends Cinzia + Rowan. We had such an amazing day! We booked our tickets on a whim when we saw them on offer on Groupon the other week, so glad we made that impulse purchase! 

I couldn't get over the amount of stalls in the shopping area, I was totally in my element!ha. I was trying to be good with my money with Christmas coming up + all but did buy a few cheeky things for myself. I'll probably mention them in separate posts but I'll quickly list them for now: the popular feather print dress by Love, two Illamasqua pure pigment's, TIGI Party Girl Set + lots of Models Own goodies! I could of spent a lot more but the good me took over for a change, boo!

The catwalk performance was fab'! The theme was 'Night at the Department Store' + basically travelled through each floor and saw the mannequins come to life! The clothes were gorgeous but the majority of the time was spent in awe of the models' glittered platform heels + of course the gorgeous topless male models, hello! Thinking of even dedicating a post to the shoes from the show, they were amazing! Back to reality for the mean time now; I have two weeks of university left before breaking for Christmas, bring on the deadlines!

LONDON: NOVEMBER

Yesterday my boyfriend & I went to London for the day. The main reason for the visit was so that I could buy some fabrics for my current project in uni' but as it was Davids first trip to London we did some very tourist activities as well! We traveled by the cheap + cheerful, Megabus, well more cheap than cheerful as we had to be up by 4am to catch our six o'clock bus from Cardiff, bit of a nightmare!

I'm a little bit obsessed with London; even though a day trip is unbelievably tiring & hard work, I love it! We did everything in one day from sight seeing the landmarks, shopping on Oxford Street (bought myself a onesie, yayer!), wandered around Harrods, visited my favourite the V&A + managed to squeeze in a trip to the Sea Life London Aquarium which was amazing!

Dying to go back again real soon! Will probably save for a hotel + go for the weekend or something instead of just the day. Need to get into gear now though, going to Glam tonight for the official Tinie Tempah after party and currently have nothing to wear + have zero tan on! Off to raid my wardrobe + slap on the tan, excited!

BLIND LEMON VINTAGE FAIR...

The Blind Lemon Vintage autumn fashion fair was hosted today at Cardiff's Town Hall & I popped along to see if I could find some vintage gems. I had never been to a vintage fair before & enjoyed looking through the stalls filled with fur coats, lace collars & sequin dresses. I very nearly came home with a pair of Levi cut offs but sadly left empty handed): 

Although a lot of gorgeous items caught my eye, I'm trying to stick to one style for my wardrobe as I feel it's a little random at the moment! This is easier said than done as I am prone to the odd impulse purchase (aren't we all?) but determined to try & curb my random buys. I bought a tri-pod in the week so hoping this will make it easier to share my new, styled wardrobe with you guys. 

I feel I've been struggling with blogging over the past couple of weeks; I have loads of ideas for posts but can't seem to find the words to write them. After this little break I feel a little better & would like to thank my followers for sticking with me, n'awww(: Posting will hopefully resume as normal this week, yayay...

No post yesterday as me & the boyf' made a spontaneous decision to take a trip to Longleat Zoo! Best decision ever! It's a little sad but I used to watch 'Animal Park' every Saturday morning so was stupidly excited to see all the animals up close, and boy do you get close! I have a major thing for Giraffes, I think they're the coolest animals ever! Just look at the third photograph, my main man!ha. It was such an amazing day; I'd recommend it to anyone, no matter how old your are! The safari drive is fab', you can get really close to the rhino's, lions, tigers, giraffes, ahhh! There are also parts of the zoo where you can get up close to the littler animals like the parrots, meerkats, reptiles and butterflies. One little tip if you're planning on going; if you're precious about your car DO NOT go through the 'Monkey Drive-Thru', they rip off any part of your car that they can, I saw one cheeky monkey running around with a licence plate in his hand! The boyf' didn't seem to find it as funny as I did seems we were in his car!

I have designated this weekend to get my 'Royal Wedding Essay' for university out of the way. It can't just be me who is kind of fed up of hearing about the wedding before it's even happened!?ha. I've been trying to do some research this morning but keep finding things to distract myself with (more details to come, excited to share with you guys!). Do need to get my head down though, written 63 words when I should have 2,000 not looking good! Hope you enjoy the bank holiday tomorrow...

Apologise for my absence over the past couple of days; had a few days of spontaneous adventures with my mates to make the most out of the beautiful weather! I went to the beer garden after shopping on Thursday, beach & Nando's on Friday and a BBQ after work yesterday which ended up going on until the very early hours! Will of course make it up to you guys and I have rediscovered a few summery outfits which will be shared with you very soon. For now here are some of my snaps from the beach on Friday, love busting out the shorts I made last summer! Got two old pairs of jeans to re-invent this year too. Hope you all enjoy your Easter Sunday; if you follow me on Twitter you would already know that the easter bunny was kind enough to bring me Adele tickets for later this year, who needs chocolate aye! My Sunday roast is ready now, NOMNOMNOM...

But sometimes you wanna go where everyone knows your name...

Check out the blue skies in London today! Loving this kind of weather (even though I was dressed for the cold and wet, layered up & in a leather jacket)! Usually when in London we have a long list of to-do's but today was nice and chilled. We firstly visited the Yohji Yamamoto exhibition in V&A, such a beautiful building, absolutely love it! We then made our way to Berwick Street to have a look at some fabrics before heading to Carnaby Street. We paid a visit to Liberty whilst there to drool over the McQueen and Stella McCartney before heading to Oxford Street and back to reality! We stopped in some fashion bookstores along the way, love a good book! We finished the day by heading back to the V&A to wait for the bus around the little pond in the sunshine. Looking back it was a really nice day, at the time I was tired from the 6am wake up call and boiling from the unsuspected sun! I need to go to bed and rest my walked out feets now, hope you've all enjoyed the sunshine!

Sorry for being a bit MIA the past couple of days, things have been not stop! Yesterday I paid little ol' London town a visit with the uni' guys to buy fabrics and trimmings for our current project. We firstly visited Goldhawk Road where there is at least 10 fabric shops which line either side of the road, they all compete with each other for the best priced cloth which helps when looking for a bargain! Sadly I couldn't find any silver fabrics which match my brief so left there empty handed. We then made our way to Berwick Street (where we passed Liberty and...) where my search improved; I found silver bias binding and other detailing which will fit in with my designs perfectly. In search of more trimmings, we came across a hidden workshop which I managed to buy some bespoke shoulder pads! With the shopping done we made our way to the Design Museum over Tower Bridge to see the fashion illustration exhibit. It was hard work fitting all that in to the six hours we had in London but was definitely worth it! Today I am completely wiped out! I spent all of this morning sat in the doctor's waiting room and now I am going to try and finish off my essay before work this evening, on a bit of a downer compared to yesterday!
