opi i think in pink

OPI i think in pink RRP £11

I don't know why this polish hasn't already been featured on my blog as it is one of my favourites by far! I bought this shade in the airport along with the OPI New York City Ballet Mini's on the way home from our holiday in Mexico. Though they didn't have the biggest selection of colours, they were only marked up as £5 so kind of kicking myself that I didn't buy a couple more. If I'm doing my nails for a night out, this is usually my go-to-colour as my typical outfit consists mainly of black with a bit of pink lippy, normally MAC Saint Germain or Loud Lips in Baby Doll.

This is a glossy, bubblegum pink shade that suits most skin tones. It applies smooth, even + basically flawless. It's a sheer, creme polish but builds up a nice density with two coats. The more layers you apply the brighter the polish gets, I've applied three in the image above. It has a gorgeous finish, it's super shiny with out using a top coat. Loveee it!

nails; frosted lilac

I love this combo of nail varnishes! The OPI shade 'Care to Danse?' matches Topshop's 'Waterlily' perfectly! I paired them together to create an opaque, super glossy base of this gorgeous muted, pinky-lilac colour. To finish, I added a layer of 'Pirouette My Whistle' which is in-fact a lot more sparkly than the images portray. There's tiny glitter particles joined with flecks of frosted silver glitter which sits perfectly next to the lilac. This is going to be my go to nail until I can find the perfect winter red!

opi new york city ballet minis

OPI new york city ballet minis; my pointe exactly, don't touch my tutu!, care to danse?, pirouette my whistle.

This cute mini collection is part of my I-went-a-bit-nuts-in-cancun-airport haul from back in mid September! I originally had my eye on the Minnie Mouse Collection (in particular the shade "Nothin' Mousie 'Bout It") whilst in Birmingham airport but failed to actually purchase them, boo. So when I saw this little set in Cancun airport for a mere $11 (around £7.30) I basically pounced on it! Even though this is a Spring collection; these soft, pastel colours are perfect winter hues for a major pastel polish fan like me!

My Pointe Exactly; a sheer neutral, pastel grey polish, with an added sheer gloss finish - Care to Danse?; a sheer sweet, pastel lavender shade, with an added sheer gloss finish - Don't Touch My Tutu!; a sheer delicate, milky white shade, with an added sheer gloss finish - Pirouette My Whistle; a luxurious, glitter clear top coat infused with micro-fine silver shimmer and sparkling hexagon glitter which compliments the soft shades of the collections + adds a touch of fairy-tale sparkle.

These are semi sheer polishes so they need a good four coats to produce a decent amount of colour. The picture shows the vanishes with; 4 layers with Pirouette My Whistle, 3 layers + 2 layers. The shade 'Care to Danse?' reminds me of Topshop's Water Lily polish and I think it would look amazing layered over it to give it a super glossy finish! I love these polishes and can't wait to play around with them a bit more! Have you tried any from OPI's ballet range?

notw; peach, lime + 3D flowers

BARRY M peach melba nail paint £2.99; OPI nicki minaj did it on 'em £12.95 (part of mini set); EBAY 3D flower £0.99.

My inner magpie took over this weekend resulting in bright, slightly tacky nails! I gotta say I'm slightly besotted with them! This Barry M shade is quickly becoming one of my favourites; it looks amazing with a tan + is basically the perfect peach colour. When I bought the OPI Nicki Minaj mini set I didn't think I'd really get much wear out of this lime shade but these two colours work really well together. I think I'm going to try them in an aztec style next with a bit of white/gold thrown in. The flower was a bit of an impulse thing but I do think it's super pretty albeit rather tacky! Summery nails seeing as the sun has decided to make an appearance(:

ombré nails; blue

nicki minaj for opi in fly; models own in top turquoise; look beauty nail pop in vintage; models own in blooboo; rimmel lasting finish in sweet as sugar; nicki minaj for opi in save me.
I've been wanting to attempt ombré or gradient nails since seeing the purple version on a few blogs a fair while ago, however I never seemed to have quite enough colours for it to work properly. When my sister came home with the Rimmel pale blue this idea immediately shot to mind! I've worn the plain colours all week + I must say, I love it! Last night I added a bit of sparkle just in time for the weekend. The OPI Save Me works perfectly as the holographic blue strips seem to emphasise the the blue nails. I'm looking forward to trying this in pink + purple tones. This style is perfect for statement nails that are so simple + don't require a steady hand, new favourite last minute night out manicure!

OPI NICKI MINAJ MINIS

I've been eagerly awaiting my ASOS delivery these past couple of days purely to get my hands on this OPI mini collection! This is my first OPI purchase + I must say I'm very impressed! I love the Nicki Minaj packaging + the colours are just amazing! The swatches are only one coat as I didn't realise how tiny the mini's actually are! The colours are..

Did It On 'Em - A lusty little lacquer that loves the "lime"-light. - This is probably the wild card polish in this little set for me. I would never buy a colour like this if I saw it in store but it is actually growing on me! It is a little bold so maybe I'll wear it as an accent colour.

Fly - I came to win, to fight... and to wear this aqua. - I can't wait to wear this gorgeous, bright teal! Models Own Blooboo is one of my all time favourite nail colours so this shade of blue will make a nice change. I think it would amazing with a layer of Save Me over it for added sparkle for a night out!

Pink Friday - Kick off the weekend with this pop! of bubblegum pink. - I am a sucker for a bubblegum pink + this shade is just perfect! I have been searching for a colour like this for a while so think I'll probably buy the full sized of this.

Save Me - The box states Metallic 4 Life but this holographic polish is actually called Save Me + I love it! I own a lot of glitter polishes but none quite like this, brilliant little addition to my collection!

Overall I am loving this little set; I think it's maybe more Katy Perry than Nicki Minaj as I don't really picture these colours for Nicki! I can see me buying the full sized bottles for a few of these, particularly Pink Friday + Save Me. I would recommend this trail sized pack for anyone wanting to try out this collection, it costs just over the price of a full sized bottle and certainly won't disappoint! Have you tried any of these shades, what do you think?
